Conflict Resolution

RIISDS is committed to managing any complaint, appeal, or dispute arising from the editorial process in a fair, transparent, and expeditious manner.

Scope of Application

This policy applies to:

  • Rejection of manuscripts during initial editorial evaluation

  • Unfavorable decisions after peer review

  • Reports of undisclosed conflicts of interest

  • Complaints about unethical conduct by authors, reviewers, or editors

  • Requests for correction, retraction, or expression of concern

General Procedure

Stage Action Deadline
1. Receipt of the dispute The interested party submits a written statement to the Editor-in-Chief (revistadigital@itsta.edu.mx) describing the facts, grounds, and requested solution. Within 10 business days after notification of the decision giving rise to the complaint.
2. Acknowledgment of receipt The Editor-in-Chief confirms receipt and assigns a tracking number. Maximum 3 business days.
3. Preliminary evaluation The Editor-in-Chief determines whether the dispute is admissible (related to editorial policies) and whether it requires review by the Editorial Committee or external bodies (e.g., COPE). 5 business days.
4. Resolution The Editor-in-Chief, with the support of the Editorial Committee, issues a reasoned written resolution. In complex cases, the opinion of the SNPCyH Technical Committee will be requested (once the journal is recognized). 15 additional business days.
5. Notification The resolution is notified to the requesting party via email. Immediate.

Appeals

If the requesting party is not satisfied with the resolution, they may file an appeal within 5 business days following notification. The appeal will be reviewed by the RIISDS International Editorial Committee, whose decision shall be final and binding within the scope of the journal, without prejudice to the legal remedies provided under applicable law.

Cases Referred to COPE

In situations of serious editorial misconduct (confirmed plagiarism, manipulation of reviews, duplicate publication), the journal will follow COPE flowcharts and may refer the case directly to the authors' home institution or to the competent authorities.

Confidentiality

All parties involved in a dispute are obligated to maintain the confidentiality of the process, unless disclosure is required by law.

Update and Validity of These Policies

These Editorial Policies are currently in effect at RIISDS. Any future modifications will be announced on the website and notified to interested parties through the journal's usual channels.
