Open Science Practices

RIISDS is committed to the principles of Open Science as part of the human right to science and the democratization of knowledge.

Open Access

The journal charges no fees to authors or readers (no APCs, no subscription). It receives donations to cover part of its sustainability. All content is free from the moment of publication, under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0), which allows:

  • Share – copy and redistribute the material in any medium or format.

  • Adapt – remix, transform, and build upon the material for any purpose, even commercially, provided that appropriate credit is given and changes are indicated.

Open Data

Authors are recommended to:

  • Deposit the datasets supporting their findings in open access repositories (e.g., Zenodo, Figshare, REDMEX).

  • Include in the article the permanent link (DOI) to said data.

  • Include a data availability statement in the manuscript.

Open Peer Review (Optional)

Currently, the journal operates with double-blind peer review. However, offering authors the option of open peer review (with revealed identities and public reviews) is contemplated as a future editorial innovation practice.

Source Code and Methods

When relevant (e.g., scientific software, mathematical models), authors are encouraged to share the source code in public repositories (GitHub, GitLab) and cite it appropriately.
